Puerto Mazarron or as the Spanish call by its correct name Puerto De Mazarron, is on the Bahia of Mazarron in south eastern Spain.
The area grew from mining, now its main sources of income are tourism and agriculture. Some areas have been developed in the surrounding country side but the area is not and never will be built to a point of saturation. Puerto De Mazarron is a town that is growing up and provides all you need for a beach holiday and all the activities you can enjoy on the Mediterranean coast.
The town has several very good supermarkets a daily market and a very busy Sunday market that is well worth a visit. You have a wide choice of beaches to enjoy the sun and sea many within walking distance of the town centre.
A wide choice of restaurants is also available providing very good quality food that will satisfy many tastes, from Spanish to Italian and Chinese you can eat out each day and try different types of food during your stay.
Airports
The town is serviced by Murcia (San Javier) and a little further up the coast Alicante Airport with travelling time of just over one hour and Murcia being about 45 minutes . If you fancy exploring the area, Aguilas to the south and Cartagena to the north are well worth a visit each being a full day out.
A thirty minute drive inland from Puerto Mazarron you will find the National Park, Sierra Espuna. Take a picnic and some good walking shoes for an enjoyable day out and some very fresh mountain air and fantastic views of Murcia.
